We had the WORST experience trying to obtain basic pricing information from Ron Rex.

At first he seemed like he was going to be helpful and cooperative but after a few phone calls and email conversations we realized he was putting on his best "Sales Hat."

After a LONG phone conversation followed by several polite email requests for basic pricing information, he refused to discuss any of it via phone or send it via email or fax (he does email). He INSISTED we make an appointment to come into the funeral home to discuss it - FYI this is against the law.

He claimed to be "very busy with at-need funerals" yet not too busy to email us back without a price list. When probed further for having it sent via fax or email, he refused and kept insisting that we "make an appt. and stop in when your available." And I quote, "You are not in dire need of decisions presently, and I have at need funerals I have to attend to. Just email me 2 days in advance so I can adjust the funeral schedules-
When you arrive I can show you the differences in caskets for burial and urns for cremation if preferred. Also please bring with you any information of Life Insurance Policies that can pay for the funerals, OR I will discuss with you the setting up of burial reserves accounts in our bank. There is just too much info. you need, that I feel a fax or e mail absolutely won't be able to address. "

This is very clearly a sales tactic to get you in the door and underwrite a contract. A consumer should not have to be "at need" to understand their services and pricing. And the pricing is only complex because they make it complex.

We found his tone very rude and his emails condescending and pushy. We would NOT recommend working with a business who treats consumers like this. There are 150+ other funeral homes in Philadelphia you can work with who won't put a sales pitch on you.

Steer clear of Ron Rex.
