William {Bill} Larry Eiland passed away at Emory Johns Creek Hospital on Friday, April 17th, 2020 at the age of 72.
Bill was predeceased by his father, William Angus Eiland and mother, Evelyn Octava (Rowe) Eiland.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Soon I. Eiland. They were married in Opp, AL on February 3, 1972.
Bill is lovingly remembered by his Son, Stephen Eiland; Daughter, Sandra (Eiland) Wincel; Grandson, Ian Brown; and Granddaughter, Lorien Brown all of Suwanee, GA.
He was born in Washington DC on March 30, 1948 and grew up in his hometown of Staunton, VA. He graduated Buffalo Gap High School in Swoope, VA then promptly joined the US Army.
Bill served his country as an MP, as well as a veteran of the Vietnam War. Upon retirement from the Army in 1988, he went on to earn his bachelor's in Computer Information Systems from Jacksonville State University in 1991. Over the years he worked as a civilian CS consultant and developer to the US DOD and Delta Air Lines, Inc prior to his second retirement in 2012.
Bill enjoyed working on and collecting various automobiles as well as spending time with his family with dinners, movies, game nights and conversation.
